Urban Airshed Reforestation Program
Camden, NJ

The Urban Airshed Reforestation Program is designed to mitigate air and water pollution in the ozone non-attainment area of South Jersey, currently entirely focused onthe City of Camden, through the planting of thousands of trees and the recruitment of numerous organizations as partners to support these greening efforts. This project links tree planting in an urban environment to better air and water quality by providing a safer, healthier environment for residents most affected by industrial pollutants. As of May 2009, the NJTF has partnered with 114 community groups to plant 3,492 trees in Camden with over 6,600 volunteers! Additionally, we have trained over 275 Camden residents in urban and community forestry issues through the Camden TreeKeepers workshops.
